The news places another major tech player in the nascent race to define the next generation of personal computing hardware. While Musk has publicly denied the report, the alleged move suggests an ambition to create a dedicated device for AI interaction, potentially leveraging the company's existing satellite infrastructure for connectivity and competing with similar efforts from companies like OpenAI.

Technical Ambitions and Market Realities

The prototype is reportedly a sleek device, slimmer than an iPhone, and is designed to run a proprietary operating system integrated with technology from xAI, Musk's artificial intelligence company. This strategy aims to create a vertically integrated product, avoiding reliance on Google's Android or Apple's iOS platforms.
